On June 26th, we were officially homeless! That is what the guy's that Neil works with have named it, he just smiles! The transition was difficult, but all worth the end result. It seems different to us since we are both still working. On the weekends we settle into a fun campground routine and then it is back to the work week and things seem strange, but no matter it is still a fabulous lifestyle. We are anxiously awaiting the time when we can pull out of here and start traveling! Funny, until just recently we would have not been able to close the sliders and travel, because to much stuff was un-organized!
We have a seasonal site at Thousand Trails, Hershey Preserve, but all of our close neighbors come and go from their stick and brick houses. Although, we know that there are a few other camper's that are working and living in their RV's, we haven't met them yet.
One of our favorite things is waking up every day and while walking Tatum or driving in and out of the park, waving to everyone and saying "hello", greeting each day with a smile. You know that seems to only happen in campgrounds!
Tatum had her third birthday and loves the lifestyle! |
We love spending our time looking at the lake, bird watching and following the hummingbirds! |
That transition time is a whirlwind, isn't it? I remember that last couple of days I was just stuffing things anywhere in the trailer I could, and ended up re-organizing it the few weeks we had between leaving NY and starting our jobs in MI. It all got done, eventually :-). We'll definitely catch up with you in FL...drop us an email when you'll be near...we have two "trips" planned, 2 weeks at Disney and 5 days in Key Largo...otherwise we'll be at homebase in Homosassa...I see kayaking in our future :-).
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a great start. We kinda prefer the term "house free" instead of "homeless". :-)

Nancy, that looks like a very pretty campground. You guys are doing great! Are you planning to launch your Sea Eagle in that pond? Looks like a good place to practice :)
ReplyDeleteWe are so excited for you both. We can't wait to hit the road too. We are leaving 10/1 to head to South Dakota. Time is now flying by!! We need to get together before we leave.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your change in status! Let the fun begin!
ReplyDeleteYes, house less is the word...you are always home wherever the RV is park:o)) The thing I liked the most was becoming "stuff less";o)) You only have what you need and not all that STUFF to weigh you down!! Sounds like you are doing really well. How long do you have to work. Will you be on the road by the time you come to the CC gathering??
ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautiful place. You are on the way!
ReplyDeleteWe've found the people in campgrounds are so friendly. Glad you do too. Your campground looks lovely!
